We did it!
THANK YOU!
Last night I celebrated my re-election victory with my friends, family, and supporters. It's a victory that would not have been possible without your help and support, and I am so grateful.
Representing the hard-working people of Colorado's 7th Congressional District for the past four years has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am humbled that they have put their trust in me again.
I’m going to keep being the same guy I’ve always tried to be – an accessible, available, effective voice for my neighbors. I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get back to work for our state and our country.
This has been a hard-fought campaign and a tough two years for this nation. I'm reminded of the time about 18 months ago when I was at the King Soopers by my house and the barista at the Starbucks came out with tears in her eyes. She said, “can you help me – my home is in foreclosure, and I don’t want to move because I want my kids to be able to stay in their schools. I can’t get my bank to work with me to modify my loan.” Right then I went to work for her. We put her in touch with the right person at the bank and they modified her mortgage. I see her from time to time, and a few weeks ago I asked her how things were going. She said “you know – things are tight – but we are making it.”
That's where we are right now in this country; things are tight, but we are making it, and we have to keep moving forward. I'm confident we can get our economy back on track and put people back to work. And I'm honored to have the chance to do everything I can to make that happen over the next two years.
Thank you again for your friendship and support.
